A generous couple from Soham, Cambridgeshire, has once again illuminated their community with festive spirit and charitable giving, presenting a cheque for £2,348 to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH). John and Helen Attlesey have been dazzling neighbors and visitors with their spectacular Christmas light display since 2012, featuring glowing snowmen, reindeer, and an inflatable Santa Claus, all while raising vital funds for causes close to their hearts.
Inspiring Journey of Support
The Attleseys' fundraising efforts are deeply personal, driven by the support their grandson Jake received after being diagnosed with a severe form of epilepsy at just six years old. Initially given only 12 to 18 months to live, Jake defied the odds after undergoing brain surgery that halted his seizures. He recently celebrated his 23rd birthday on January 26, a milestone that fuels the couple's dedication.
Charitable Commitment
EACH is one of three charities the couple supports, alongside Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and Dreamflight. Their latest donation brings their cumulative total for EACH alone to nearly £25,000, a remarkable achievement from their annual festive tradition.
