A generous team from Cineworld Hinckley is preparing to trade the cinema for mud, water, and obstacles this weekend to support a hospital charity. The group will take on the Wolf Run 5K at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire on Sunday, June 14, 2026, joining thousands of participants at the popular Summer Wolf event.
Fundraising for MediCinema
The team is raising funds for MediCinema, a charity dedicated to improving the wellbeing of NHS patients and their families through the power of film. MediCinema builds and operates fully accessible cinemas inside hospitals, specially designed to accommodate beds, wheelchairs, and medical equipment. The charity screens the latest films free of charge, supported by staff, volunteers, and healthcare professionals.
Often described as a 'lifeline' for patients, the service welcomes more than 17,000 patients and their loved ones each year, helping to boost resilience and reduce anxiety and stress during hospital stays.
The Challenge Ahead
Cineworld Hinckley's team will tackle the Wolf Run's 5K course, which features natural terrain including lakes, woodland, and thick mud, testing both physical and mental endurance. Despite the challenge ahead, the team is motivated by the impact MediCinema has on patients and families across the UK. Supporters are encouraged to donate and help the team raise funds for the charity's vital work in hospitals.
Donations can be made via the team's JustGiving page at justgiving.com/page/cineworld-hinckley-wolf-run.
Event Details
Many other runners, charities, and corporate teams across the country are teaming up for the next edition of the event. Summer Wolf takes place at the Stanford Hall estate in Leicestershire from Saturday, June 13 to Sunday, June 14. The event also promises a lively, festival-style atmosphere, with music, food, and activities for both runners and spectators.
Charlie Moreton from The Wolf Run said: "Summer Wolf is always a brilliant weekend. It's about getting stuck in, having a laugh, and challenging yourself, whether you're coming on your own or as part of a group. We see a real mix of people taking part and coming along. It's as much about the day out as it is the course itself."
A limited number of 5K and 10K entries remain for the event, with the Junior Wolf very close to selling out. Anyone interested in entering or finding out more can visit thewolfrun.com.
