An inspirational father and son duo are pushing their bodies to the absolute limit by cycling the entire length of Wales for charity. Lee Parry and his son, Aaron, are currently tackling a mammoth 221-mile journey across the country's most rugged landscapes.
The Route and Challenge
The gruelling three-day challenge saw the dedicated pair set off from Amlwch in Anglesey on Thursday, June 25, 2026. By the end of their brutal second day, the duo had successfully pedalled nearly 300km through challenging terrain to reach Brecon. The final leg of their momentous journey will see them cycle from Brecon down to Rhoose, near Cardiff, completing the full length of Wales from top to bottom.
The pair are taking on the exhausting physical trial to raise vital funds and awareness for two extraordinary charities close to their hearts.
Personal Motivation
Their efforts are in loving memory of Keith Bigham, Aaron’s maternal grandfather, who sadly passed away from Mesothelioma and was looked after by the team at St David’s Hospice. They are also riding to support Lyn Parry, Aaron's paternal grandmother, who has been bravely living with Parkinson’s disease for 17 years.
Fundraising Progress
So far, the duo's impressive feat has captured the hearts of supporters, raising a whopping £4,050 online. However, they are still pushing hard to reach their ultimate fundraising target of £7,500 to split between the causes.
The money raised will allow St David's Hospice to continue providing compassionate palliative care, while supporting vital research into Parkinson's disease. Family and friends have rallied behind the pair, describing the cross-country expedition as an incredibly impressive and deeply meaningful achievement.
Looking Ahead
Both Aaron and Lee are looking forward to crossing the finish line after days of intense cycling through the unpredictable Welsh weather.
