Three volunteer fundraising committees of Moya Cole Hospice have collectively raised over £4,500 in the past month through separate events. The Little Hulton committee, Heald Green committee, and the newly formed Heatons and Reddish committee each organised activities to support the hospice's services.
Quiz Nights and Dance Event
The Little Hulton and Heald Green committees both hosted Quizmasters events, while the Heatons and Reddish committee held a Ballroom and Latin Dance evening. These events drew community participation and generated funds for the hospice's ongoing care.
Lucy Green, fundraising manager for Moya Cole Hospice, said: “Our committees do an incredible job of organising and running events on behalf of Moya Cole Hospice. The funds raised at each of these three events will go towards ongoing care at the hospice and ensuring patients and their loved ones get the care they need at the most difficult times in their lives.”
Heald Green Committee's Third Annual Quiz
The Heald Green committee marked their third annual Quizmasters evening, with approximately 100 people attending. The event took place at the Cheadle Hulme Conservative Club.
Lynn Partridge, committee member, said: “We had a fantastic evening at the Cheadle Hulme Conservative Club. We had lots of fun and raised lots of money, through the quiz, raffles, and an auction. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. I can’t wait for the committee to host another Quizmasters event in the future.”
Little Hulton Follows Suit
Inspired by the success of the Heald Green Quizmasters, the Little Hulton committee organised their own version at the Royal British Legion in Boothstown. Committee members described the event as a “great success.”
Heatons and Reddish Committee's Debut Event
The Heatons and Reddish committee, formed earlier this year, held their first-ever event: a Ballroom and Latin American Dance evening. Organised in collaboration with the Hartland School of Dance, the event catered to all skill levels, and attendees enjoyed a wonderful night of dancing, according to committee members.
