Clwyd and Gwynedd Military Chaplain Completes Iconic Dubai Half Marathon for Youth Charity
Military Chaplain Runs Dubai Half Marathon for Army Cadet Charity

A military chaplain from Clwyd and Gwynedd has triumphantly completed one of the world's most iconic half marathons, raising vital funds to support young people back home in North Wales and throughout the United Kingdom.

Prestigious International Race in Dubai

Padre Toby Jones took on the prestigious Burj2Burj Half Marathon in Dubai on February 8, running the challenging 21.1-kilometer route between two of the city's most famous landmarks: the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab. With entry numbers strictly capped to maintain the event's exclusive atmosphere, securing a place in this race is a notable achievement in itself.

More Than Personal Accomplishment

For Toby, however, the challenge was about far more than personal accomplishment. He ran in dedicated support of the Army Cadet Charitable Trust, an organization that works tirelessly to ensure no young person misses out on the opportunities offered by the Army Cadet Force due to financial hardship.

The funds raised help provide essential support for cadets across the UK, including those in North Wales. This support contributes towards crucial equipment, educational camps, and developmental activities that build confidence, resilience, and valuable life skills in young participants.

Representing Community on a Global Stage

Speaking after successfully completing the race, Toby expressed immense pride in representing his community on an international stage while supporting a cause that is deeply close to his heart. His efforts not only saw him cross the finish line in Dubai but also make a meaningful and lasting difference to the lives of young people closer to home.

Donations to Toby's ongoing fundraising campaign for the Army Cadet Charitable Trust can still be made through the official fundraising platform. His inspirational journey highlights how individual determination can create significant positive impact for charitable causes supporting youth development and opportunity.
