A devoted volunteer from Penarth has been formally recognised for her exceptional commitment to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, having dedicated more than two decades to supporting its vital work.
Two Decades of Dedicated Service
Sally Livsey-Davies has been presented with a long service award by Penarth RNLI in appreciation of her remarkable contributions spanning over twenty years. Throughout her extensive service with the fundraising team, Sally proved herself as a driving force behind numerous activities.
Her involvement was both creative and hands-on, encompassing everything from selling tickets for popular fish suppers and opera evenings to helping source attractive raffle prizes for these events. Her colleagues have expressed their absolute pleasure at having worked alongside such a committed individual for so many years.
Creative Fundraising and Community Spirit
A significant part of Sally's legacy lies in her tireless efforts for the RNLI coffee morning cake stand. She was renowned for rallying supporters to bake cakes and savouries, ensuring the stand was always beautifully presented thanks to her enthusiasm and sharp attention to detail.
This dedication translated into consistent funds raised for the lifeboat station. On one particularly memorable occasion, Sally combined her passion for the RNLI with one of her favourite pastimes by hosting her own Bridge event in Penarth specifically to raise money for the cause.
A Lasting Impact on the Community
The award ceremony highlighted how Sally's commitment, creativity, and generosity have made a lasting difference to the Penarth RNLI community. Her long service exemplifies the profound impact that sustained volunteer effort can have on local charitable institutions.
