Specsavers Eastwood Staff Raise £914 for Children's Cancer Charity in One Year
Specsavers Eastwood Raises £914 for Latch Charity

The team at Specsavers Eastwood has completed a full year of fundraising for Latch Welsh Children's Cancer Charity, collecting £914 since 2025. Staff members began the campaign after a colleague's close relative received a leukaemia diagnosis, creating a personal link to the cause that supports families at the Children's Hospital for Wales.

Fundraising Events and Milestone Celebration

Over the past 12 months, colleagues at the locally owned branch on Nottingham Road hosted various events to raise money for the charity. To mark the anniversary, staff welcomed charity representatives into the store and presented them with a giant cheque representing the total raised.

Hazel Proctor, store supervisor at Specsavers Eastwood, said: “We’ve had a fantastic year fundraising for Latch, and we’re thrilled with the amount we’ve managed to raise.” She added: “Having a personal connection to the charity makes the fundraising total even more meaningful.”

Impact on Families and Charity Support

Money raised through the ongoing local campaign goes directly toward helping young people and families receiving specialist care. The funds are directed to Latch Welsh Children's Cancer Charity, which provides support to families at the Children's Hospital for Wales.

Proctor also expressed gratitude to the community: “A big thank you to everyone who donated throughout the year; we know firsthand how much this means to Latch and the families who received their support.”

Continued Commitment to the Cause

The store team's efforts reflect a sustained commitment to the charity, driven by the personal experience of a staff member whose relative faced leukaemia. The £914 raised represents the collective contributions from customers and the local community over the 12-month period.
