Stockport NHS Charity's Neonatal Incubator Appeal Receives Significant Donation

Stockport NHS Charity's ongoing campaign to fund a new neonatal incubator has received a substantial boost from a local nursing consultancy. Ealoor Consultancy, celebrating its 25th anniversary, hosted a Harmony Night event at Wythenshawe Forum that raised over £1,760 for the vital cause.

Celebratory Event Honors International Nurses and Supports Tiny Lives

The Harmony Night was a special occasion that not only marked Ealoor Consultancy's milestone anniversary but also paid tribute to international nurses. The evening featured musical entertainment and served as a fundraising platform for Stockport NHS Charity's incubator appeal. Kate Leadbeater, the charity manager, expressed deep gratitude for being chosen as the beneficiary.

"We were extremely honoured to be chosen by Ealoor Consultancy as the beneficiary of this special celebratory event," said Leadbeater. "We send heartfelt thanks for this wonderful kind donation towards our incubator. This amazing life-saving machine will help baby's breath and keep them warm."

State-of-the-Art Equipment for Vulnerable Newborns

The donation will contribute toward purchasing a Drager Babyleo TN500 incubator, also known as a resuscitaire. This advanced medical device is designed to provide the best possible environment for newborn babies requiring extra support. Unlike standard incubators, the Babyleo TN500 is more compact, allowing it to function as a travel incubator.

This feature enables easier access for both parents and the midwifery team, particularly when a baby needs transportation to a specialized care unit. The equipment will significantly enhance care for premature and poorly infants at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Call for Community Support and Volunteer Fundraisers

Stockport NHS Charity is now actively seeking volunteers to organize their own fundraising events to support the neonatal incubator appeal. The charity encourages caring individuals who have secured places in runs or challenges, as well as businesses, community groups, and schools, to participate.

Suggested activities include hosting 'Caring Cuppa Coffee Morning' events or engaging in active fun fundraising initiatives. Leadbeater emphasized the importance of community involvement: "Please share in the care and help us continue providing lifesaving support to our premature and critically ill babies by supporting today. If your business, club, school would like to get involved in some fun fundraising to support tiny lives, we would love to hear from you."

The charity also welcomes contact from families whose babies have received care on the Neonatal Unit at Stepping Hill Hospital, seeking to build stronger community connections.
