A group of local office workers have raised a spectacular sum of money for charity after completing a tough coastal walking challenge. The team from Taylor Wimpey Manchester generated more than £17,500 by conquering a scenic trek along the coastline. Over 300 people from across the company took part in the annual endurance event on May 16, 2026.
The participants walked along the beautiful North Devon coast before finishing a series of competitive team games. The impressive total will be split between a youth adventure charity and a volunteer scheme that helps families in Trafford.
Supporting Local and National Charities
The local donation will go directly to the Little Green Sock Project, which collects and redistributes clothes and essentials to families who need them most. The rest of the money will support the Youth Adventure Trust, an organisation that inspires vulnerable young people through outdoor adventures.
The annual company event has now raised more than £1.6 million for good causes over the last 12 years. Staff members from the regional office expressed their immense pride in the achievements of everyone who took part in the trek.
Employee Pride and Gratitude
Jon Saward of Taylor Wimpey Manchester said: “The Taylor Wimpey Challenge is always a fantastic event. Not only does it bring together employees from across the business, but more importantly, it raises a huge amount of money for extremely worthy charities. This year has been no different and I’m extremely proud of our teams for their effort in raising much-needed donations for the YAT and Little Green Sock Project.”
Leaders from the youth charity have shared their deep gratitude for the continued support of the corporate teams. Mark Davey of the Youth Adventure Trust said: “It has been another fantastic year for the Taylor Wimpey Challenge, with all of the participants embracing the activities with camaraderie and a great sense of humour. As always, we’re very appreciative of their efforts in support of our mission to help young people fulfil their potential and lead positive lives. Funding from this year’s event will make a huge difference to us and we look forward to continuing our partnership into 2027.”
