A 16-year-old from the Neath area is preparing to run 300 miles in just six days to raise funds for Maggie's Cancer Centre in Swansea. Toryn Knoyle, whose auntie Becca is affected by cancer, will begin his challenge on Monday, July 6, covering approximately 50 miles each day through Neath, Glynneath, Resolven, Pontneathvaughan, Aberavon, and surrounding communities, finishing at Seven Sisters Rugby Club on Saturday.
Support from Family and Community
Toryn's father, former professional rugby player Tav Tavis Knoyle, who represented Wales and now owns UNIT9 Gym in Neath, will support him alongside family, friends, and locals. The community is encouraged to join for sections of the route or cheer him on.
Why This Challenge Matters
Toryn said: “I wanted to do something that would really make a difference. Maggie’s helps so many people and families going through cancer, and this challenge is my way of giving something back while supporting my Auntie Becca. I know it’ll be tough, but I’m determined to finish every mile.”
Fundraising Success
The family hopes to raise awareness of Maggie's work. Supporters can follow Toryn's journey on Instagram at @trw_9. His GoFundMe page has already exceeded the £1,000 target, having been created very recently.
Get Involved
Anyone wishing to run alongside Toryn for part of the challenge or cheer him on is warmly invited to come along and show their support. The challenge takes place in Neath Port Talbot.
