Tina McBrien's Fundraiser for Loros Hospice in Memory of Her Father
Tina McBrien is organising a significant fundraising event for Loros hospice, dedicated to the memory of her father, David Leader, who passed away from stomach cancer in 2019. The event aims to support the hospice's vital services for terminally ill patients and their families across Leicestershire and Rutland.
Event Details and Activities
The fundraiser will take place at Leicestershire County Cricket Ground on Grace Road in Leicester. It is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, from noon to 4pm. The day will kick off with a rideout starting from A6 Birstall services, concluding at the cricket ground. Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a large raffle with prizes generously donated by local businesses such as Leicester Porsche Centre, Leicestershire County Cricket Ground, and Sileby Spas.
Additionally, Andymansclub will be present to offer advice and leaflets focused on improving mental health among men, highlighting the event's broader community support. Many businesses have also contributed by paying £100 each to feature their logos on charity posters, further boosting fundraising efforts.
Supporting Loros Hospice
Loros Hospice provides free, high-quality, and compassionate care to terminally ill adult patients, as well as their families and carers. However, the hospice is currently facing financial challenges. To continue delivering these essential services free of charge to over 2,500 patients and their families annually, Loros needs to raise a minimum of £9 million in voluntary income each year.
All proceeds from this fundraising event will go directly to Loros, with the hospice working closely alongside Tina McBrien and the team at Leicestershire County Cricket Ground. Businesses or individuals interested in supporting this cause by donating raffle prizes or offering other forms of assistance are encouraged to contact Tina McBrien via email at tina.mcbrien0310@gmail.com.
This event not only honors the memory of David Leader but also plays a crucial role in ensuring Loros can maintain its life-changing services for those in need throughout the region.
