Six friends who met while serving in the military have successfully summited Mont Blanc, one of Europe's highest peaks, to raise funds for a children's charity. The group, comprising former Army colleagues Craig, Alex, Ant, James B, James S, and Danny, completed the demanding 4,810-metre climb after months of intensive training.
The Ascent: Facing Extreme Conditions
The team faced freezing temperatures, exposed terrain, and steep ridges during the ascent. They navigated harsh alpine conditions, pushing themselves to physical and mental limits to reach the summit. Despite the challenging environment, all six members successfully reached the top.
The friends, who regularly take on extreme adventure challenges together, chose Mont Blanc to combine their passion for climbing with supporting vulnerable young people. Their expedition was backed by several corporate sponsors, including LMAX Exchange, Island, Global Service Group, and Omerta.
Supporting Wooden Spoon Charity
All money raised from the climb will go directly to Wooden Spoon, the children's charity of Rugby. The charity supports disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK and Ireland by creating safe spaces to play, learn, and thrive. Funds will be used to support local community projects.
With the climb complete, the friends are now hoping to boost their fundraising total further to help more young people. Donations to the team's fundraising page remain open for anyone wishing to support the cause.
