You could win £5,000 by entering the Moya Cole Hospice Summer Raffle, all while supporting the hospice to care for patients and their loved ones. Imogen Barter, a staff nurse at the hospice, explains the importance of this fundraiser.
How the Raffle Supports Care
Barter works as a staff nurse on the Moya Cole Hospice inpatient unit, providing care to those with life-limiting illnesses. "Each day we provide comfort and support during difficult times," she said. "The work we do wouldn't be possible without your support."
Supporting a cause such as the Summer Raffle is vital to the ongoing operation of Moya Cole Hospice. The hospice offers a free service, and only receives a third of its funding from the NHS. The rest is made through the kindness and generosity of people within the community.
The Impact of Community Generosity
"We can't continue with our work in the community without people like you," Barter added. "Your generosity helps us be there for patients when they need us most."
Moya Cole Hospice provides holistic care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, comprising inpatient care, day therapy, and supportive outpatient services from its sites at Heald Green, Stockport, and Little Hulton, Salford. The teams also provide a range of community and outreach services, including care in the place they call home via a Hospice at Home service available in Salford and Trafford, the hospice's Community Specialist Palliative Care Team in Salford, and the homelessness palliative care service in Manchester. A 24-hour telephone advice line is available to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals in Salford, Manchester, Trafford, and Stockport.
