St Luke's Church in Deeplish will hold a Morning Praise service on June 14 at 10am, officiated by Reader Sue Horobin. Tea or coffee and a chance to chat will follow. On Wednesday, June 17, a Bible Study session will take place at 10am, open to anyone interested in learning about the Bible in a friendly, informal setting. St Mary's, Balderstone
This morning, St Mary's invites everyone to its monthly coffee morning from 10am until 12pm in the parish room. This welcoming space offers free tea, coffee, or hot chocolate and an opportunity to connect with others. Tomorrow's morning service begins at 10.30am, focusing on Romans chapter 9 verse 30 through to chapter 10 verse 21. Children's groups are available for ages 4-11, and refreshments will follow the service.
A shared prayer gathering will take place tomorrow evening at St Saviours Church on Bishopsgate Street, off Denton Lane, Chadderton, OL9 9BF. This meeting is a time for group prayer over various areas, causes, and individual concerns. All are welcome, and Zoom participation is available for those unable to attend in person.
SMUrFs, the babies and toddlers group, meets each Tuesday during term time at 1.30pm. Stay n Play offers games, toys, snacks, stories, songs, and fun for children aged 0-5, plus a warm drink for adults. The cost is £1 for one adult with a child, with an extra 30p for each additional child. Midweek small groups meet on Wednesdays, providing prayer, mutual support, and Bible study. The daytime group meets at 10am in the church lounge, and the evening group meets at 7.30pm via Zoom. This term, they are studying Samuel.
Advance notice for upcoming events includes a quiz night with a meal on Saturday, June 20, at £5 per person, with all proceeds going to Springhill Hospice. Booking is required via the church office. Holy Trinity Benefice of Littleborough
Last Sunday, Holy Trinity held morning prayer. This Sunday, a joint service will take place at St Barnabas at 10am to celebrate their Patronal Festival, followed by tea, coffee, and biscuits. On Tuesday evenings, Bible study and prayer meet at 7.30pm in a congregation member's home, studying the fruits of the Holy Spirit. All are welcome.
The Holy Trinity Youth Theatre Workshop has been disbanded due to the high cost of show licenses, which exceeded £1,500 per production. The group previously performed two successful shows annually. Unsold costumes remain, some of which have been sold to societies in Germany, Italy, Norway, and America. Remaining costumes, including military caps, are available for sale. The annual Art Exhibition will take place on the first weekend of September, now in its sixth year. Open to artists across the diocese, the exhibition features artwork for sale, craft stalls, and a preview evening on Friday with cheese and wine. Tickets are available now.
St Chad's and St Mary in the Baum
Today, Saturday, June 13, St Chad's hosts a "Come and sing European classics" workshop led by Gary Hulme from 10am to 3pm, ending with a short concert. Participants pay £12, including music and drinks, and should bring a packed lunch. The concert at 3pm is free with a retiring collection. Tomorrow, Sunday, June 14, is the Second Sunday after Trinity. At 9.15am, the Eucharist with hymns will be held at St Mary's, led by Rev Duke O'Baka-Torto. At 11.15am, Choral Matins takes place at St Chad's, led by Rev Pamela Parr.
Each Monday, the Red Cross provides help for refugees at St Mary's from 10am to 2pm, with free refreshments. On Wednesday, June 17, the Toad Lane Lunchtime Concert features Jasmine Ai Higgs, soprano, and Logan Ferris, piano, at St Mary's from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. Admission is £6. On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm, St Chad's is open to visitors throughout the summer, with free admission and donations welcome. Gardening takes place each Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm, and church cleaning on Thursdays from 10.30am to noon. Volunteers are welcome.

St Chad's and St Mary in the Baum serve the Rochdale community, with children's activities during Sunday morning services and refreshments provided. Last weekend, St Chad's participated in the Medieval Fayre, featuring archery, re-enactments, medieval music, cookery, embroidery, history displays, combat, law courts, coin striking, and manuscript workshops. The event was organized as part of the Broadfield Park Slopes Project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Rochdale Development Agency.
St Andrew's, Dearnley
Last Sunday's readings were Hosea 5.15-6.6, Romans 4.13-end, and Matthew 9.9-13, 18-26. Next Sunday's readings will be Exodus 19.2-8a, Romans 5.1-8, and Matthew 9.35-10.8 (9-23). This week includes morning prayer on Wednesday at 9.30am and a said midweek Eucharist on Thursday at 10.30am. The intergenerational service on the first Sunday of each month at 9.30am was well received, focusing on being good fruit and sharing good news. Next Sunday's traditional service is at 9.30am.
The summer fair is planned for June 27, with donations of raffle prizes such as bottles, chocolates, sweets, jams, and preserves appreciated.
