Armed police in Birmingham have uncovered a terrifying arsenal of weapons hidden in a local man's home, including a partially constructed 3D-printed firearm and dozens of knives.
The Shocking Discovery
On 14 March 2025, officers from West Midlands Police conducted a raid at a property on Monyhull Hall Road in Kings Norton. What they discovered inside the home of Carl Walker was described as a "worryingly large armoury" of deadly weapons.
The most alarming find was a partially manufactured 3D-printable, semi-automatic 9mm firearm concealed within a wardrobe. Police also recovered compatible 9mm bullets alongside all the necessary components and tools required to complete the dangerous weapon.
A Vast Collection of Weapons
The weapons haul extended far beyond the homemade firearm. Officers seized:
- More than 50 knives, including hunting knives
- A flick-knife and a samurai sword hidden under the mattress
- Additional knives concealed within Walker's bed
- A crossbow with bolts and blow-pipes with darts
- An instruction manual for manufacturing a homemade 9mm sub-machine gun
Court Proceedings and Sentencing
Carl Walker, 50, had previously pleaded guilty to multiple charges at a hearing on 5 September 2025. The charges included possessing a firearm without a certificate, possessing ammunition without a firearm certificate, and possession of a flick-knife.
On 28 November 2025 at Birmingham Crown Court, Walker was sentenced to 16 months' imprisonment, which was suspended for two years.
Douglas Marshall from the Crown Prosecution Service commented: "The Crown Prosecution Service worked closely with West Midlands Police to build a robust case that left him no option but to plead guilty. We will continue to prosecute those who seek to produce and possess home-made firearms with the full force of the law."
