As he approached the scene, the shopkeeper was punched in the face by the unruly customer, resulting in facial injuries that required hospital treatment. His daughter, who has reviewed CCTV footage of the assault, described the incident as "awful" and "horrendous to watch." She added, "It was just a random attack. My dad doesn't even make it into the salon. As he's walking, the guy just comes out and punches my dad."

During the confrontation, the victim's iPhone fell from his pocket and was stolen by the attacker, who then fled through Handsworth Park. West Midlands Police have launched an investigation into the attack and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
