Masked Intruder Sought After Early Morning Burglary Attempts in Erdington
CCTV appeal after Birmingham break-in attempts

West Midlands Police have launched a public appeal to identify a masked man captured on CCTV following a spate of early morning burglary attempts in a Birmingham suburb.

Series of Attempted Break-Ins

The incidents occurred on Holly Lane in the Erdington area in the early hours of Sunday, January 4. According to investigators, a man attempted to gain entry to several homes along the road.

Between 6am and 7am, the suspect was ultimately successful in entering one property. However, he was disturbed and subsequently fled the scene before anything was stolen.

Distinctive CCTV Image Released

In a bid to trace the individual, detectives have issued a CCTV still of a man they urgently wish to speak to in connection with the incidents.

The image shows a Black man wearing a black coat with the hood up. He is also sporting a distinctive black and white hat, and the lower half of his face is concealed by a white mask.

Police Appeal for Information

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: “We’ve launched an investigation after a man attempted to gain entry into several addresses before getting inside a property on Holly Lane, on 4 January between 6am and 7am. As part of our enquiries we would like to identify the man pictured and would ask anyone who recognises him to speak to us.”
