M6 Lorry Crash: Family's Tribute to 'Beacon of Love' Tomasz, 47
Family tribute to lorry driver killed on M6 near Rugby

The heartbroken family of a lorry driver killed on the M6 motorway have described him as a "beacon of love" whose presence brought comfort to all who knew him.

Appeal for Witnesses After Fatal Collision

The driver, named only as Tomasz, was 47 years old and lived in Northamptonshire. He died following a collision on the northbound carriageway of the M6 between Rugby and Coventry. The incident occurred on Monday, 8 December.

Detectives from Warwickshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Team have launched an appeal for information. They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved—a white Scania heavy goods vehicle (HGV)—in the moments leading up to the collision.

A Life Lived with Purpose and Joy

In a moving and extensive tribute, his devastated family honoured Tomasz's memory, painting a picture of a devoted family man and pillar of his community.

"Today we honour the life of Tomasz, who was more than just a father, partner, son, brother and uncle," they said. They described him as a man who lived every day with purpose, dedicating himself to his partner, children, and wider family.

His selflessness was a defining trait. "He gave without expecting anything in return, always putting others before himself," the family stated. They remembered his contagious happiness and the warmth he brought into every room.

A Legacy of Kindness and Strength

The tribute highlighted Tomasz's role as a steadfast friend and a community member who was always ready to lift others up. Hardworking and determined, he carried his responsibilities with grace and a constant smile, finding joy in life's simple moments.

"His laughter lit up rooms, his kindness touched countless lives, and his unwavering support lifted friends and communities," his family said. He was the person others turned to for guidance and comfort, a true role model of integrity, strength, and compassion.

Though his life was tragically cut short, his family vowed that his spirit would remain a bright light. "We will remember him not for the way he left us, but for the way he lived—with love, happiness, selflessness, generosity, and devotion," they affirmed.

His legacy, they said, is etched in the hearts of all who knew him and will inspire them to "be better, love harder, and live fuller." They concluded: "He will live on in the laughter of his children, the strength of his family, and the love that binds us all together. Rest peacefully our beloved Tomasz. You will forever be our guiding star."
