A knifepoint robber who held up a convenience store in Tamworth is believed to have struck again at a petrol station days later. Staffordshire Police have linked the two incidents and are appealing for witnesses.
First Robbery at Co-op
The first robbery occurred at the Co-op on Glascote Road in Glascote on Good Friday, April 3. At around 6am, a man armed with a knife entered the store, threatened staff, and stole cash along with other goods. The suspect was described as wearing a grey or white hoodie and dark trousers.
Second Robbery at Jet Garage
The second incident took place at the Jet garage on Lichfield Street in Fazeley on Tuesday, April 14. A masked man armed with a knife entered the petrol station, demanded money, and fled with cash. The robber in this case was described as a white man, slim build, around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, wearing a black mask, black gloves, and all black clothing with his hood up.
Police Investigation
Staffordshire Police believe the two robberies may be connected but are keeping an open mind. A spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information as part of an ongoing investigation into a robbery in Tamworth. It happened shortly after 6am on Friday 3 April. A man with a knife went into the Co-op on Glascote Road and left with cash and other items. No one was injured.”
The spokesperson added: “At this stage, we believe this incident may be linked to another robbery at Jet in Fazeley on Monday 14 April, but we are keeping an open mind. Anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has information that may assist the investigation, is encouraged to get in touch.”
