Staffordshire Police sealed off part of Kettlebrook Lakes after receiving a report of a rape at 12:50 am on Tuesday, June 23. The alleged incident occurred between 10:30 pm on Monday, June 22, and 12:50 am on Tuesday.

According to police, a woman was sitting on a bench near a play park at Kettlebrook Lakes when she was raped by a man. The victim made her own way home before reporting the incident to authorities.

Arrest and Investigation

Following enquiries, officers attended a home in the Glascote area and detained a man. The suspect, aged 41 and from Glascote, Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in custody for questioning.

Tamworth Police stated: "We received a report of a rape in Tamworth at 12:50 am today. A woman, who was on the bench near a play park at Kettlebrook Lakes, was raped by a man at some stage between 10:30 pm on Monday and 12:50 am on Tuesday. The victim made her own way home before the incident was reported to us. After completing enquiries, officers went to a home in the Glascote area and detained a man. A 41-year-old man, from Glascote, Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody for questioning."
