Tragic Death of Pedestrian in Smethwick Following Van Collision
A man in his 60s has tragically passed away in hospital two days after being struck by a van in Smethwick, with West Midlands Police now urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The collision occurred at approximately 7am on Tuesday, April 7, at the junction of Cranford Street and Alma Street in Smethwick. The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, sustained critical injuries after being hit by the van.
Bystanders at the scene immediately administered CPR to the man before emergency services arrived. He was then rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
