West Midlands Police are investigating after a 29-year-old man was slashed across the face in Small Heath, Birmingham, in the early hours of Monday (August 17). The attack occurred on Whitehall Road just after midnight, and the victim was taken to hospital with a wound described as non-life-threatening.
Police respond to midnight attack
Officers were called to reports of a man being attacked on Whitehall Road shortly after midnight. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a slash wound to his face. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his injury was assessed as not life-threatening.
The road was cordoned off earlier as detectives collected CCTV and conducted their enquiries. West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a man being attacked on Whitehall Road, Small Heath, just after midnight today. A 29-year-old man was found with a slash wound to his face, and he was taken to hospital to be assessed for his injury which is thankfully not life threatening."
Investigation and appeal for information
