Man Threatened Pregnant Worker in Jewellery Quarter Spree

A 21-year-old man has been found guilty of seven offences after a threatening crime spree across three Birmingham businesses in the Jewellery Quarter, leaving workers terrified.

Threats to Pregnant Worker

Jeansy Lupini stormed into the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists on June 12 last year, where he told a pregnant staff member, 'I'll kill you both'. He drew his finger across his neck, a gesture the victim interpreted as a threat to kill her unborn baby.

Restaurant Incident

At Trentina Restaurant, Lupini claimed to have a knife, telling an employee, 'I have a shank too', before pointing to his waistband. He also picked up cutlery and asked another worker about her social media accounts, leaving her 'very scared'.

His final stop was SP Green Jewellers, where he knocked over chocolate coins, flexed his biceps, and demanded a staff member 'say sorry to me'.

Court Outcome

Lupini was found guilty in his absence of seven offences, including four counts of using threatening words or behaviour and possession of cannabis. His lawyer described the matters as 'very serious indeed'.

He was released on conditional bail and must stay away from all three businesses and have no contact with victims. Sentencing was postponed until July 10 for a pre-sentence report.
