Midlands Pub Issues Heatwave Plea: 'Please Be Patient With Us'
Midlands Pub Plea: 'Please Be Patient With Us' in Heatwave

The Royal Oak, a pub on Manor Lane in Halesowen, has issued an urgent plea to customers as a summer heatwave pushes temperatures to 34C. Staff warned that kitchen temperatures are 'extremely hotter' than outside, leading to potential delays in service.

Heatwave Challenges for Staff

In a social media post, the pub explained: 'As you can imagine it is a challenge for our whole team working in this heat, and temperatures are still anticipated to increase.' The post stressed that 'the health and safety of our team is a priority' and requested customers to 'please be patient'.

Kitchen temperatures are expected to be significantly higher than the outside temperature, which could reach 34C this week. The pub noted that 'wait times and possible pause in orders will be applied where needed' to ensure staff can take necessary breaks.

Appeal for Understanding

'We ask that you please be mindful of this when visiting, slight delays may apply due to necessary breaks being taken,' the post continued. The Royal Oak thanked customers for their 'understanding and continued support'.

The pub is located at Manor Ln, Halesowen, B62 8PZ. This comes after another Midlands pub recently issued a 'polite reminder' about 'abusive behaviour' towards staff.
