Police Launch Major Appeal Over Prolific West Midlands Burglary Spree

Detectives from West Mercia Police have launched a significant public appeal as they investigate a prolific burglary gang suspected of carrying out more than thirty break-ins across two counties. The crime spree, which has left communities on edge, is believed to have taken place between November 2025 and January 2026 across Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

Linked Crimes Across Multiple Towns

Investigators are now treating over thirty separate burglary incidents as connected, with offences reported in numerous locations including Redditch, Worcester, Evesham, Abberley, Pershore, Droitwich, Malvern, and Ledbury. The geographical spread of the crimes suggests an organised gang operating across the region, targeting homes and properties in both urban and rural settings.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed the development, stating: “Officers investigating a spate of burglaries across Herefordshire and Worcestershire have released images of the suspected burglars. Over 30 burglaries across the two counties are now being treated as linked and officers are continuing with a number of enquiries.”

CCTV Images Released in Public Appeal

In a crucial move to identify the suspects, police have released CCTV stills captured during a burglary in Abberley, Worcestershire, earlier this month. These images form a central part of the investigation as authorities seek to put names to the faces responsible for the widespread criminal activity.

Detective Inspector Dave Knight, leading the investigation, emphasised the serious impact of these crimes on victims: “We do not underestimate the impact that burglaries have on victims. The crime is intrusive and we know it can leave homeowners feeling unsafe. We want to offer assurance, to victims and our communities, that a thorough investigation is taking place into the series of burglaries and we are not slowing down in our efforts to apprehend the offenders.”

Ongoing Investigation and Community Support

The police investigation involves multiple lines of enquiry, including:

  • Detailed analysis of CCTV footage from various locations
  • Comprehensive house-to-house enquiries in affected areas
  • Close liaison with neighbouring police forces to share intelligence
  • Collation of forensic evidence from crime scenes

Detective Inspector Knight added: “Collating CCTV images is one of several lines of enquiries being carried out. We believe that someone will know who the offenders are and we encourage those people to come forward and speak to us.”

How to Report Information

West Mercia Police are urging anyone with information that could assist their investigation to come forward through several channels:

  1. Contact Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting their website
  2. Report information online via the official West Mercia Police website
  3. Contact Detective Inspector Knight and his team directly by calling 01905 716 977

The police spokesperson reinforced the appeal: “If you have any information which might help with enquiries, you can report in a number of ways. Your information could be crucial in bringing these offenders to justice and preventing further crimes.”

This major police operation continues as officers work to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for what appears to be one of the most significant burglary sprees in the West Midlands region in recent months.
