A murder investigation has been launched in Redditch following the fatal stabbing of an e-scooter rider in an underpass. The victim, a 41-year-old man, suffered a stab wound to his chest and later died in hospital.
The incident occurred at Martley Close, near the underpass leading below Woodrow South. Police were called to the scene in the early hours of the morning and have since cordoned off the area to conduct forensic examinations.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher from West Mercia Police's Major Investigations Unit is leading the investigation. He stated: "Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries since this morning, including reviewing CCTV and conducting house-to-house visits. The victim was wearing dark clothing when he was found, and we believe he may have been riding an e-scooter prior to the incident."
Police are urging anyone who saw a person matching this description in the area to come forward. They are also seeking dashcam footage that may show anyone in the vicinity this morning.
