Suspect Still on Run Year After Small Heath Stabbing

Nearly one year after a brutal attack in Small Heath, a man suspected of involvement remains on the run. Jafir Nazir is wanted by detectives in connection with an incident on Monica Road last August, where a victim was pushed off a quad bike and repeatedly slashed in the head with a flick knife.

Details of the Attack

The assault occurred in broad daylight, leaving the victim with severe injuries. He is still recovering from the attack, according to police. Another man, Taylor Burns, 26, has already been jailed for six and a half years after pleading guilty to section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a knife.

Police Appeals and Reward

Detectives have launched several appeals to locate Jafir Nazir, and a £5,000 reward has been offered by the charity Crimestoppers for information leading to his capture. Detective Sergeant Ian Leech of West Midlands Police stated, “It’s important that we speak to Nazir in connection with this incident. I would appeal to anyone who has any information on where Nazir is to get in touch.”

Alan Edwards, West Midlands Regional Manager at Crimestoppers, added: “You can tell us what you know, without ever giving your name or any personal details. We’ll pass on your information so Nazir can be found and brought to justice.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact West Midlands Police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
