Two individuals have been taken into custody following a stabbing incident that left an 18-year-old man with life-threatening injuries in Birmingham city centre. The attack occurred during a fight in Victoria Square at approximately 8:30 PM on Tuesday, June 23.
Victim's Condition and Arrests
The teenager was rushed to hospital and, as of today, remains in a stable condition, according to West Midlands Police. A 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested last night in connection with the assault.
Police Appeal for Information
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We've arrested two males after an 18-year-old was stabbed in Victoria Square in the city centre on Tuesday evening. Investigators detained the 23-year-old and the 17-year-old last night following the incident, which left the teenager with life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in a stable condition."
Officers are continuing enquiries, including forensic examinations and reviews of CCTV footage. Investigators are speaking with witnesses and urge anyone with information to come forward. The spokesperson added: "We understand incidents like this cause concern and neighbourhood officers are maintaining regular patrols in the area."
