West Mercia Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and footage after a woman was struck in the head with a bottle in Worcester during the early hours of Saturday, June 20. The assault occurred at around 1.20am at the junction of Trinity Street and St Swithin’s Street, leaving the victim with cuts and swelling to her head and face.
Details of the Assault
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was approached by another woman at the junction. The assailant allegedly struck the victim to the head with a bottle, causing several cuts and swelling to her forehead. Despite the violence, the injuries were not deemed serious, and the victim was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police have confirmed that the attacker is believed to be a woman, but no arrests have been made at this stage. The incident is being investigated by PC Ruairidh Braithwaite of West Mercia Police.
Police Appeal for Information
In a statement, a West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a woman sustained injuries to her head and face in Worcester during the early hours of Saturday, June 20. Around 1.20am the victim was on the junction of Trinity Street and St Swithin’s Street when another woman hit the victim to the head with a bottle."
The spokesperson added: "The victim suffered a number of cuts to her head, along with swelling to her forehead. She was taken to hospital as a precaution but, thankfully, did not suffer serious injuries."

Officers are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have captured the incident on CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area around the time of the assault.
