A 28-year-old man from Birmingham is set to appear in court charged with drug and counterfeit currency offences following a police raid in the city centre.
Raid on Ridley Street
Officers from West Midlands Police's County Lines Taskforce executed a warrant at a property on Ridley Street in Birmingham city centre on Monday, April 27. The operation was part of an investigation into the 'Max' drugs line, which had been supplying Class A drugs from Birmingham into Worcester.
During the search, police recovered a large quantity of Class A drugs, along with mixing agents, drug supply paraphernalia, and approximately £20,000 in counterfeit banknotes.
Charges Filed
Raheem Ali, aged 28, of Rockingham Road in Yardley, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, and possession with intent to supply cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, and cannabis. He has also been charged in connection with the counterfeit notes.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A man is appearing at court today charged with multiple drug dealing offences. Our County Lines Taskforce carried out a warrant at an address in Ridley Street, Birmingham, on Monday. The warrant was carried out as part of enforcement into the 'Max' drugs line which has been supplying Class A drugs from Birmingham into Worcester."
The spokesperson added: "A 28-year-old man was arrested for drug dealing offences, and following searches, a large quantity of Class A drugs were recovered, along with mixing agents, drugs supply paraphernalia, and approximately £20,000 in counterfeit notes. Raheem Ali was charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, and possession with intent to supply cocaine and crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis. He was also charged with having counterfeit bank notes. The 28-year-old was remanded in custody and is set to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court today."
