Police have launched an appeal after a Solihull pensioner was assaulted and threatened during an early hours burglary. The victim, a man in his 80s, was attacked in his home on Warwick Road as two men broke in at around 1am today, Thursday, June 4.
Several high-value items, including jewellery and watches, were stolen from the property. Cash was also taken. Fortunately, the man's injuries are not thought to be serious. West Midlands Police is investigating and has urged anyone with information to come forward.
Details of the Incident
A spokesperson for the force said: "We're appealing for information after a man was injured and items were stolen following a burglary in Solihull in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 4 June). We understand that two men broke into the property on Warwick Road shortly before 1am. During the burglary, a man in his 80s was threatened and assaulted. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be serious."
