Pride in Lancashire Awards Launched to Honour Community Heroes
Pride in Lancashire Awards Honour Community Heroes

Lancashire County Council has launched a new awards scheme to celebrate the people, groups and organisations making a real difference in communities across the county. The Pride in Lancashire Awards aim to shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond for their neighbours and local areas.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Nominees might be individuals who bring neighbours together, lead local activities, care for others or drive positive change. The awards will recognise the care, commitment and community spirit shown by residents, volunteers, businesses and organisations. From reducing loneliness to improving local spaces, the scheme highlights the many ways people help their areas thrive.

Hosted by Paralympic Gold Medallist

The awards ceremony will be hosted by local veteran and Paralympic gold medallist Gregg Stevenson. He said: “We’re looking for people who go above and beyond and who deserve recognition for the difference they make. There are so many people across Lancashire quietly doing incredible things in their communities, and this is our chance to recognise them and say thank you.”

Ceremony and Awards

A special ceremony will take place on Lancashire Day, November 27, where each winner will receive a Pride in Lancashire Award and an overall winner will be announced.

County Councillor Ella Worthington said: "Across Lancashire, there are residents, volunteers, community groups, organisations and businesses who give their time, energy and care to help others and strengthen the places they call home. It’s fantastic to have Gregg Stevenson hosting the awards and helping us shine a spotlight on these inspiring stories."

How to Nominate

Nominating someone is simple and open to everyone. Complete the nomination form and explain who you are nominating, why they deserve to be recognised and the impact they have made in their community. Entries should include clear examples of how the nominee has helped others, brought people together or improved local life.

An independent judging panel with strong links to the county will review all submissions. They will look for entries that show inspiring stories and a positive difference to local people and places.
