James Taylor, a 66-year-old Aston Villa supporter who had recently retired, has died after being struck by a lorry in Staffordshire. His family described him as a 'very quiet and beautiful person' who would do anything for anyone.
Collision on Walsall Road
The incident occurred on Walsall Road, Great Wyrley, at approximately 1:50 PM on Monday, June 29. Emergency services, including Staffordshire Police, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, and West Midlands Ambulance Service, attended the scene. Mr. Taylor, a pedestrian, was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Tribute from Family
In a statement released through police, James’ family said: 'James was a very quiet, beautiful person who would do anything for anyone. He was an avid Aston Villa fan and had just retired and was looking forward to working on his motorcycles and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed.'
Investigation and Appeal
The lorry driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police inquiries. Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision.
