YouTuber's 3-Day Wetherspoons Food Challenge: Total Bill Under £45
Man eats only Wetherspoons for three days - bill shocks

A popular British YouTuber has put the affordability of a UK pub chain to the ultimate test, eating exclusively at Wetherspoons for three consecutive days. The content creator, known as Just Deano, documented his culinary marathon and was left stunned by the final cost.

The Three-Day Wetherspoons Marathon

Just Deano embarked on his challenge, sampling breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings from the budget-friendly chain, even including the occasional pint of Guinness. Despite finishing the experiment feeling completely stuffed, his bank account remained in remarkably good health.

Reflecting on the experience, Deano revealed: "The total spend of this video was £44.38 over three days at Wetherspoons." He clarified that the amount could have been higher, but eating three full meals every day proved "physically impossible." This worked out to an average of just £14.80 per day for all his food and drink.

He acknowledged the value, stating: "Say you have eaten out and not cooked, that isn't bad, is it?" He also noted that his total was inflated by one pricier seasonal item, commenting that the Christmas dinner was "atrociously expensive for what you get."

A Day-by-Day Breakdown of Meals and Costs

The challenge began at The Richard Oastler in Huddersfield with a classic Wetherspoons breakfast. For only £2.99, Deano enjoyed a fried egg, bacon, sausage, beans, and a hash brown. He defended the chain's morning offering, calling it a "decent, consistent breakfast" for the price.

The standout meal of the entire experiment came at lunchtime on day one: a Christmas pizza with turkey, stuffing, and brie for £7.96. Deano hailed it as "phenomenal" and later crowned it his undisputed favourite.

On the second day, after a surprisingly expensive fruit and yoghurt breakfast (£3.49), he enjoyed a British beef and pancetta lasagne with a drink for £6.97. The evening saw him tackle a full Christmas dinner with a pint of Guinness at The Cherry Tree for £12.52. While a fan of the chain, he was less impressed with this festive plate, finding some vegetables undercooked and tough.

By day three, after the large meals of the previous day, Deano skipped breakfast. For lunch at The Lord Wilson in Huddersfield, he had a Shawarma chicken wrap and a Monster drink for £6. He finished his challenge with a steak and ale pudding and a soft drink for a mere £4.65, praising it as an "absolute bargain."

Surprising Verdict and Public Reaction

Looking back, Deano passionately defended Wetherspoons against its critics, emphasising the unparalleled value. "People slate Wetherspoons... but the value here..." he said, pointing out that £6.09 could often buy just a pint elsewhere, whereas at 'Spoons it covered a whole meal with a drink.

His final verdict was clear: the Christmas pizza was his favourite "without a shadow of a doubt." He also urged others to always check the specials board for the best deals.

The video, shared online, resonated with viewers who appreciate budget-friendly dining. One commenter wrote: "I would be happy with that food any day of the week, great value." Another added: "There's lots choice at Wetherspoons at reasonable prices." The experiment conclusively proved that for those seeking affordable pub grub, the chain offers a surprisingly viable, if not always gourmet, solution.
