Leicester Man Wins £120k Rolls-Royce and £45k Cash After 10-Year Wait
Man wins Rolls-Royce and £45k cash in spot the ball contest

For Chris Woodgate, a routine Tuesday in Leicester turned into a life-altering event when a film crew arrived at his door with the keys to a brand new Rolls-Royce. After playing an online spot the ball competition for around ten years, his persistence finally paid off in spectacular fashion.

A Decade of Dedication Leads to Dream Prize

Chris had religiously cleared his diary every Tuesday, the day winners are announced by dream car giveaway company BOTB. His long-held hope was that one day he would receive the surprise call. That call finally came in December 2025, when BOTB presenter Christian Williams travelled from London to Leicester in the luxury car itself.

The game challenges players to pinpoint the exact location of a missing football in a photograph. Despite becoming skilled over the years, Chris needed to land his marker on the perfect pixel to claim the top prize. This week, he succeeded.

"Christmas Has Come Early": The Moment of Shock

Initially speechless, Chris was led outside to see the £120,000 jet black Rolls-Royce Wraith parked on his street. He explained he couldn't resist entering for that particular car as it was a special opportunity on the BOTB site.

The luxury vehicle wasn't the only surprise. Chris had opted to play for a bonus prize, which meant the BOTB team also delivered a briefcase containing £45,000 in cash – a £40,000 bonus plus a £5,000 gift towards insuring the car.

"Christmas has come really early, hasn't it?" said a delighted Chris as the reality of his win sank in. He discussed the cash alternative with the team, admitting that taking the money "would change my life completely" as he currently lives month to month.

Life-Changing Plans for the Future

The win opens up possibilities Chris had put on hold. He revealed he hasn't been able to afford necessary dental work, saying it meant he "didn't smile very often at the moment." His immediate plans include getting his teeth sorted and sharing some of his good fortune with family.

"I'd get my teeth sorted," he said. "And I've got family I can give a little bit to on top of their Christmas presents."

BOTB runs its weekly spot the ball competition alongside other giveaways, including supercars. The firm's current big prize is a £1.15 million townhouse in Bath, with tickets priced from just 95p.
