New research from Great Britain's national mapping service has revealed the country's most festive street names, providing a year-round dose of Christmas cheer for residents. The Ordnance Survey (OS) conducted a light-hearted investigation to discover where the most obviously Christmas-themed roads are located across the nation.
Noel Takes the Top Spot
The clear winner in the festive street name stakes is Noel. According to the data, there are nine separate Noel Streets and seven Noel Roads scattered around Britain, making it the most popular yuletide-themed name. This finding, published on 19th December 2025, shows that for some Britons, the Christmas spirit is literally written into their address.
Beyond the holly tree names, which number over 50, the OS identified approximately 150 streets with overtly festive monikers. Following Noel, the next most common names are those fit for Santa's itinerary. The country boasts five Christmas Lanes and four North Pole Roads. There are also three Christmas Hills and three Christmas Streets, alongside a singular, aptly named Santa Claus Drive located in Aviemore, in the Highlands.
Unique and Quirky Festive Addresses
Several festive names appear three times each across the UK, including Noel Square, Gingerbread Lane, Bethlehem Road, and various iterations of Mistletoe (Way, Road, Gardens, and Drive). However, the OS also highlighted some uniquely charming entries that stand alone.
Among these one-of-a-kind addresses are Tinsel Lane in Wellsborough, Leicestershire, Polar Bear Drive in Kelleythorpe, East Riding of Yorkshire, and Snowball Hill in Maidenhead, Berkshire. These unique names offer their residents a permanent claim to a specific slice of seasonal spirit.
Britain's Most Christmassy Counties
But which areas of Great Britain are the most festive when all the holly tree names are counted? The analysis crowned Greater London as the leader, home to 15 yuletide street names. The capital also contains the nation's only Festive Walk.
In second place is North Yorkshire with 13 festive names, which proudly hosts the sole Sleigh Lane and Yule Lane. Kent follows closely with 12, including the UK's only Nativity Close. Nottinghamshire, with nine festive streets, shows particular favour to Santa's reindeer, featuring a Reindeer Street, Reindeer Walk, and even an Old Reindeer Close for their well-earned retirement.
This whimsical study by the Ordnance Survey proves that for thousands of people across the UK, the magic of Christmas isn't confined to December—it's a permanent feature of their postal code.
