Unsolved 2013 Murder of Walsall Delivery Driver Yasar Abbas Haunts Family
Walsall Driver Murder Unsolved 13 Years On

Yasar Abbas, a 28-year-old father of two from Birchills, was brutally murdered in Walsall in April 2013 after being lured to a bogus Chinese takeaway delivery. He died four days later in hospital from injuries inflicted by three masked men wielding an axe or meat cleaver. Despite ten arrests and a £10,000 reward, the killers remain at large.

Premeditated Attack

Police believe the attack was premeditated, with the victim called to a false address in Alumwell. Mr Abbas worked for Moon Palace Takeaway. His wife was pregnant with their second child at the time. Detectives think the murder may have been linked to an earlier argument between two groups.

Family's Anguish

His widow, Shabnam Bi, said: "I just wish we could get some peace of mind by knowing his murderers are locked up." The case remains one of the region's most high-profile unsolved murders, with hopes of justice fading each year.

Police Appeal

In 2015, Det Insp Gary Plant appealed: "People out there know who is responsible for the death of this young man and for the sake of his family - who are still very much grieving for his loss - I am appealing to those persons to come forward."

Ongoing Mystery

Despite extensive investigations, no one has been convicted. The murder continues to haunt the community and the Abbas family, who still seek closure.
