Nottingham Oddfellows Invites Residents to Embrace Spring with Social Activities
The Nottingham Oddfellows friendship group is encouraging residents across Nottingham to wave goodbye to winter by meeting new people and exploring the local area through its fresh season of social activities. With spring arriving, the group has planned a variety of events designed to help people connect and enjoy the brighter, warmer days ahead.
Building Connections Through Shared Interests
Karen Pye-Smith, a representative of the group, emphasized the value of community engagement. “There are so many incredible spots right on our doorstep, and spring is the perfect time to get out and enjoy them,” she said. “It can be hard to find others who share the same interests, but groups like ours give people the chance to do those things together. Often a simple walk or lunch can turn into a really enjoyable afternoon when you’re sharing it with others.”
Nottingham Oddfellows boasts approximately 200 local members, primarily older adults, who regularly gather in Nottingham for a range of activities. These include:
- Walks and day trips to local attractions
- Meals at neighborhood restaurants
- Coffee mornings, games, and quizzes
Upcoming Spring Events Open to All
The friendship group has organized a series of upcoming events this spring, welcoming everyone to participate. Highlights include:
- A Talk by My Sight at The Nottingham Mechanics on North Sherwood Street at 11am on April 10
- Coffee morning at The Star in Beeston at 11.30am on April 16
