Birmingham Girl, 13, Stabbed Classmate Amid Bullying

A 13-year-old girl who lunged at a classmate's neck with a knife in a Birmingham school has been sentenced to detention. The case, described as one of the most alarming attacks heard by a city court in years, serves as a wake-up call to parents across Birmingham.

The Attack

Shouting 'die b****', the girl attacked her classmate in the school reception, captured on CCTV. The victim suffered a cut behind the ear and scratches but survived. The attacker, now 15, had launched a social media campaign against the victim and told friends she wanted to kill her.

Bullying and Homophobia

The attacker's mother noticed her daughter becoming 'really miserable' in Year 8, losing weight and refusing to eat. She suspected bullying but the school said there was 'nothing to worry about'. The victim admitted telling the attacker to 'kill yourself' in a Snapchat group and made homophobic remarks about the attacker's relationship with another girl.

Disturbing Diary Entries

Police seized the attacker's diary, which contained chilling entries: 'Today I tried to stab (the victim) LMAO... I stabbed her neck but the blade wasn't sharp enough.' She also wrote about wanting to eat the victim's organs and set fire to her eyeballs.

Sentencing

The attacker was found guilty of wounding with intent and possessing a knife on school premises. She was sentenced to three years and four months detention, with 405 days already served. The judge noted her undiagnosed autism but said it did not reduce her culpability.
