Fatal Fire House Broken Into After Two Boys Die

Police have confirmed that the house at the centre of a fatal fire in Wolverhampton was broken into just days after two young boys died at the scene. The children, aged one and three, lost their lives following a blaze at a property on Mason Street on Friday, April 24.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of two children following the fire. She has since been released on police bail as investigations continue.

Break-In Under Investigation

Officers have now revealed that the extensively damaged home was broken into overnight. It is not yet known whether anything was taken from the burnt-out property, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police said.

Background of the Tragedy

Emergency crews arrived at the scene of the fire at around 8.30pm on Friday, April 24. A woman and two other children were outside the home when firefighters arrived. DCI Kylie Westlake previously described the incident as "truly tragic," adding: "Our thoughts remain very much with those who loved the children who have been lost. We understand the shock and distress this awful incident will have caused to many people and we are working at pace to ascertain exactly what has happened."

She urged the public not to speculate and to come forward with any information that could assist the investigation.
