Love Island's winning couple, Julia Majchrzak and Lorenzo Alessi, hit an awkward bump during their first live TV appearance together on This Morning, when Julia publicly challenged Lorenzo over his failure to organise a date since they returned to the UK.
The pair, who won series 13 with a commanding 62.4% of the public vote, appeared alongside their fellow finalists on the ITV daytime show, but the atmosphere turned tense when presenter Josie Gibson asked whether they had said "I love you" yet.
Awkward exchange on This Morning
Both Julia and Lorenzo answered "no" to the question, with Lorenzo adding: "It's going that way. The feelings are developing, everything is in the right position, everything is moving in the right direction…so I feel like give it some time."
When Gibson turned to Julia for her reaction, she did not hold back: "Well, where’s the date? Where’s the date Lorenzo?"
Lorenzo quickly responded: "The date is coming. I've been busy." He mentioned plans to take Julia to a "really nice" spot, eventually settling on a rooftop bar. But Julia was not satisfied, pressing: "When? Where's my date? It's been 5 days, I'm still waiting."
Prize money plans and relationship status
The conversation later shifted to their £50,000 prize money, with Lorenzo joking: "Yeah we're going to have a £50,000 pound date!" He quickly clarified, however, that he intended to spend the winnings on his loved ones, holidays, and perhaps a nice watch to mark his "crazy summer".
Lorenzo also addressed speculation that the couple had split after he was spotted liking Instagram photos of models and the pair had not been seen together since parting at the airport. He insisted: "As we've left the villa we're still in the same place, we're still dating, exclusively dating. It's going to turn into something."
He added: "Honestly, it's been a crazy few days, everything just needs to settle down."
Background: From Casa Amor to winners
Before meeting Julia during Casa Amor, Lorenzo had been getting to know Jasmine Müller and Yasmin Hadlow, but nothing clicked romantically. After returning to the main villa, he and Julia quickly became fan favourites, with viewers enjoying seeing a softer side to the Italian.
Their popularity culminated in a landslide victory, beating runners-up Jasmine and Kavan Murphy. Yet their first live appearance together suggested that adjusting to life outside the villa has its challenges, with Julia making it clear she expects Lorenzo to step up in the romance department.
