West Midlands Police are appealing for help to identify a man after a woman was sexually assaulted in a late-night attack on New Street in Birmingham city centre.

Incident Details

The assault occurred outside a building on New Street on Saturday, May 23, between 11:10pm and 11:25pm. The woman was approached by a man and assaulted during this time.

Suspect Description

The suspect is described as a white man with dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a light-coloured, short-sleeved top, black trousers, and black shoes.

Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. They believe he may have information that could assist their investigation.

Police Appeal

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Can you help us identify this man? An investigation is underway after a woman was approached by a man and sexually assaulted outside a building on New Street, Birmingham, on May 23, between 11:10pm and 11:25pm.

“Following CCTV enquiries, we’re now able to release an image of a man we would like to speak with in connection with the incident. If you recognise him or have any information that could help, get in touch by calling 101, quoting crime number 20/260035/26.

“Alternatively, stay anonymous and contact Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
