Rossendale Ramblers Enjoy Scenic Walks in Yorkshire and Lancashire
Rossendale Ramblers Enjoy Scenic Walks in Yorkshire and Lancashire

On a bright and breezy Wednesday, 22 ramblers set off from the village of Rylstone for a highly scenic 10-mile walk in this lovely area. They were not disappointed, as the views across Wharfedale were beautiful, and the lunch stop in the delightful village of Linton was very relaxing. Towards the end of the walk, Rylstone Cross and the Obelisk reminded them of other walks to undertake in the area.

On Sunday, we were closer to home for a six-mile walk from Helmshore. A total of 16 ramblers explored both sides of Musbury Valley, with excellent views of Musbury Tor and the reservoirs.

Upcoming Walks

On Friday, May 8, we have a tough 12-mile walk from Barley that will take in Pendle Hill, Brownlow, Rimington, Twiston Moor, and Black Moss. Not for the faint-hearted, but an excellent walk in a beautiful area.

This is followed on Sunday, May 10 by a six-mile walk from Helmshore that will include Snig Hole, Irwell Vale old railway path, Buckden Woods, Bull Hill, and Alden Ratchers.

Finally, on Wednesday, May 13, we have a 10-mile walk from Clapham in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This walk is an ascent of Ingleborough via Trow Gill and Gaping Gill with the return via Sulber. On anything like a decent day, the effort will be very well worth it.
