Ariana Grande tearful in final speech before break

Ariana Grande fought back tears as she delivered an emotional farewell speech to fans during the final show of her Eternal Sunshine Tour in London, ahead of a planned step back from public life. The singer, known for hits like "Thank U, Next," expressed deep gratitude to concertgoers before concluding the tour.

Speaking at the London performance, Grande said: "I just want to say thank you so much. This has been such an extraordinary experience. Thank you for 10 beautiful London shows and for 41 incredible Eternal Sunshine tour shows. This has been one of the most beautiful, extraordinary experiences of my life."

Emotional Gratitude Expressed On Stage

Holding back tears, she added: "I just want to express my gratitude without sobbing completely. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, it’s been so special and I’ll cherish this experience always and I have the best fans in the entire world and I always have. I love connecting with you in this way. I have loved every minute of this."

The emotional moment, captured in a video shared on X by Pop Base, showed Grande visibly moved as she acknowledged the audience's support throughout the tour.

Reason Behind The Break

Grande's representatives confirmed to PEOPLE.com that she will be "taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour." They explained: "She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny."

As a result of this decision, Grande will no longer star opposite Jonathan Bailey in the highly anticipated 2027 production of Sunday in the Park with George. It remains unclear whether she will participate in press activities for her upcoming film Focker-In Law.

Addressing Fan Concerns

In a separate on-stage speech delivered after her break was announced, Grande reassured fans about the nature of her decision. She said: "It is something that I had decided to plan that I had quietly made a long time ago and it’s a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place."

She continued: "I want to share this because I heard that my fans were worried that negativity was ruining things for me, but I just have to say that could not be more the f--- opposite. Honestly, this is not what that is."

The length of Grande's time away from the spotlight has not been specified. Updates will be provided if she shares further details about her plans.
