New Shops in the Bullring

Birmingham's Bullring has welcomed numerous new stores since last summer, including Victoria's Secret, teen fashion favourite Subdued, Korean beauty spot Moida, Sushidog for sushi, modest fashion business Podur, and the pink Joe and the Juice cafe. Lululemon has opened for gym wear, and New Balance is expected to open soon for more sporty goods.

New Places to Eat in Birmingham

For fine dining, Trillium near Snow Hill has been added to the Michelin Guide. For casual options, a giant new Greggs has opened at New Street, and a Taco Bell branch with a sunny terrace is near the Bullring exit. Along with Popeyes next door, they form an American food court with views of the Bullring and Odeon. Flat Iron Steak is coming soon, with a summer opening hoped for. For ice cream, Snowflake Gelato has a kiosk on the ground floor of the Bullring, and Amorino, a Parisian gelato shop, has opened on New Street.

New Places to Drink in Birmingham

Stories Tavern on the ground floor of 103 Colmore Row offers a 17th-century vibe in a modern skyscraper. Bird and Blend tea shop on New Street, replacing Claire's, serves iced teas and features a large wall of different tea flavours.

New Escape Room Fun in Birmingham

Escape Hunt is opening a new venue on Cannon Street, just off New Street, at the end of July. It will offer outdoor escape experiences as well. The previous branch at Priory Square closed when that development shut down.

New (Old!) Public Art in Birmingham

The statues of Joseph Priestley and James Watt, which were stored for safekeeping during demolition of the old library and construction of new buildings in the Paradise Development, are returning after restoration. The marble statue of Joseph Priestley has been reinstated beside the new Three Chamberlain Square building, and the statue of James Watt will follow shortly.

New Museum Attraction in Birmingham

Ozzy Osbourne's throne from his final gig at the Back To The Beginning show at Villa Park Stadium will be displayed at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery's Working Class Hero exhibition. The free-to-visit exhibition opens on July 1 and features the throne from the show where Osbourne performed two sets, a solo one and a second with the original Black Sabbath line-up.
