The starting pistol has fired for a brand new, star-studded adventure as Celebrity Race Across the World returns to BBC One for its 2025 series. This time, the celebrities and their travelling companions are embarking on an epic journey across the Americas, trading their usual luxuries for backpacks and the thrill of the unknown.
Who are the famous faces racing in 2025?
The BBC has unveiled a compelling line-up of four pairs for this year's competition, blending well-known actors, broadcasters, and musicians with their closest family and partners. The contestants will rely on their wits and teamwork to navigate one of the show's most challenging routes yet.
The four dynamic duos set to compete are:
- Broadcaster and writer Anita Rani alongside her father, Bal.
- Actor Dylan Llewellyn teaming up with his mother, Jackie.
- Real-life partners presenter and DJ Tyler West and actor and singer Molly Rainford.
- Broadcaster Roman Kemp racing with his sister, singer-songwriter Harleymoon Kemp.
The ultimate route across the Americas
This series promises unparalleled visual splendour as the teams traverse a 5,900-kilometre route through stunning and diverse landscapes. The race begins on the idyllic Isla Mujeres in the Mexican Caribbean, the most eastern point of the country.
From there, the challenge is to reach the remote and breathtaking Penisnsula de La Guajira in Colombia, the gateway to South America. The journey will take them through the undiscovered Caribbean and along the Pacific coast of Central America.
What the stars have to say about the race
Ahead of the gruelling competition, the celebrities shared their excitement and motivations for taking part. Anita Rani commented, "I think all of it is going to be quite surprising. I think even though I've been on TV for such a long time, I'm not sure people really know much about me. So I think people will see a whole new side of me for the very first time."
Dylan Llewellyn expressed his enthusiasm for the adventure, stating, "I wanted to take part because it’s such an amazing experience to be had... And to do it with my mum is a huge bonus. It's a once in a lifetime thing to do, and to do it with a loved one is even better."
For partners Molly Rainford and Tyler West, this is a departure from their usual holidays. Molly admitted, "We haven't done any kind of travelling like this before. We always stick to our comfort zone, all inclusive, just one location. This will be a new experience." Tyler added that he believed the race would "take our relationship to the next level and bring us closer together."
Roman Kemp highlighted the unique opportunity to create lasting memories with his sister, Harleymoon, saying, "With this, it's such a privilege to be able to do something so special with your sister."
When to watch the new series
Viewers won't have to wait long to join the action. The new series of Celebrity Race Across the World continues tonight, November 13, 2025, on BBC One. The episode is scheduled to begin at 8pm and will run for approximately one hour, concluding just before 9pm.
The adventure-filled Thursday night continues on BBC One with a DIY SOS: Children in Need special following the race. This debut follows the intense finale of Celebrity Traitors that aired just last week, marking an exciting period for reality competition shows on the channel.
