Welsh Primary School Hosts Annual Art Exhibition Celebrating Creativity and Heritage
Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llwyncelyn is set to run a whole-school exhibition at the Art in the Attic Gallery, located within The Factory in Porth, this week from March 2 to March 8. The event is open daily from 10am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pm, providing ample opportunity for visitors to explore the vibrant displays.
Showcasing Pupil Talent and Effort
The exhibition features a diverse range of work produced by pupils throughout the academic year, all created with the valuable support of The Factory's in-house artist, Anne Culverhouse-Evans. This year's theme, Cariad@Gymru (Love for Wales), celebrates the creativity, effort, and achievements of the students, highlighting their progress, pride, and dedication. From colorful artwork to engaging projects, the displays reflect the remarkable talent and enthusiasm of the young learners, offering a glimpse into their artistic journeys.
Commemorating 75 Years of Welsh Education
In addition to the main exhibition, a special display is included to mark the school's celebration of 75 years of Welsh-medium education in the Rhondda. This segment recognizes the rich history and lasting impact of Welsh education within the community, underscoring the cultural significance of the event. It serves as a tribute to the enduring legacy of Welsh-language learning and its role in shaping local identity.
A Community Celebration
This exhibition is a proud moment for both pupils and staff, who warmly encourage family, friends, and members of the wider community to attend. Visitors are invited to enjoy celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of the young people, fostering a sense of unity and appreciation for artistic expression. The event not only showcases student achievements but also strengthens community bonds through shared cultural pride.
