Birmingham Pub Drakes Drum Closes for Makeover, Reopens June 12

A popular pub in north Birmingham is undergoing a significant transformation ahead of Father's Day and the World Cup. The Drakes Drum in Perry Barr is currently swathed in scaffolding as it receives a comprehensive makeover, with building works clearly visible from the outside.

Reopening Date Announced

The Sizzling Pub and Grill, located near Kingstanding, Oscott, and Great Barr, is set to reopen on Friday 12 June. This timing ensures it will be fully operational for both Father's Day celebrations and England's first World Cup match. Upon reopening, customers can look forward to a range of entertainment options, games, and prizes.

On its website, The Drakes Drum promises a 'new-look restaurant' and invites patrons to discover the changes. Despite the closure, bookings are still being accepted, and diners can enjoy special offers such as two mains for £14 from Monday to Friday, starting at 12pm.
