A popular amateur talent competition is making a highly anticipated return and is now officially open for entries from local people of all ages.
Call for Talented Performers
The dedicated Mold Carnival Committee is looking for talented children and adults who want to showcase their unique skills to the community. Auditions for the exciting event are scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Ex Servicemen’s Club on Wrexham Street.
The grand final will be held on Carnival Day, Sunday, July 5, 2026, where one lucky winner from each category will receive a brilliant £100 prize.
Age Categories and Acts
Contestants will be split into two fair age categories: one for those under 15 years old and another for anyone aged 15 and over. Organisers are welcoming a wide variety of acts to the stage, including singers, dancers, musicians, acrobats, magicians, and family-friendly comedians.
Committee Encourages Participation
Jane Evans of the Mold Carnival Committee said: “Time2Shine is one of the highlights of the carnival and we are delighted to be bringing the amateur talent competition back again this year. We are hoping to have a great array of talents at the auditions, so whether you are a singer, dancer, musician, acrobat, comedian (family-friendly), magician, dancing dad or mum, or have any other talent, we urge you to enter. The auditions are always great fun and our judges are very friendly, so don’t be nervous; if you have a talent, then why not come along.”
The friendly audition evening is not just for performers; members of the public are warmly invited to sit in the audience. Jane added: “The auditions are open to the public to come along and watch, so even if you are not taking part, do come along to support those who are auditioning. It is always a great night.”
How to Enter
Hopeful stars simply need to complete a short entry form online to secure their spot on the stage. Paper forms can also be requested by sending an email to Mold Town Council at supportofficer@moldtowncouncil.org.uk or by calling their office team on 01352 758532.
