Art Fair Cheshire returns to Macclesfield Town Hall from October 8 to 15, showcasing a diverse range of works by local and regional artists. The biennial event, which has been a staple of the region's cultural calendar since 1999, raises funds for East Cheshire Hospice.
Two Galleries, Diverse Artworks
The fair will occupy two gallery spaces within the town hall. The Assembly Gallery will host fine art and sculptures, while the Capesthorne Gallery will feature jewellery, ceramics, photography, and other specialist crafts. Exhibiting artists will also hold talks about their work throughout the event.
Community and Hospice Support
Each artist donates a percentage of their sales to East Cheshire Hospice. A pop-up café will be open daily from 10:30am to 4pm. The fair also plans to incorporate work produced by pupils from The King's School, Macclesfield.
A highlight of the previous event was a papier mâché model of Slade frontman Noddy Holder, a hospice patron, created by artist Patty Callaghan.
Organiser's Statement
Hospice organiser Claire Gorton said: “Art Fair Cheshire is a celebration of creativity and community. Whether you’re an art lover, a collector, a supporter of the hospice or simply curious, the event offers a warm and inspiring day out. Every visit also helps us continue our work in the community. Funds raised through the fair make a significant difference to local people. Less than 21 per cent of the hospice’s income comes from government funding, meaning community support is essential. Every purchase made directly helps us provide free, specialist care for patients and their families.”
